INDIVIDUAL (ADOLESCENTS AND ADULTS)
While you may initially feel some apprehension in discussing the intimate details of your life with a stranger, this anonymity provides the foundation of a successful patient-therapist relationship. You may actually find it liberating to speak with someone who doesn’t know you or your family and friends, and who won’t judge you or your actions. As you continue, it is of utmost importance that your individual therapy sessions become a safe place conducive to understanding, growth, and discovery.
Together, we will make therapy a collaborative process to address whatever presenting issues you bring into the room, increase your coping skills, and help you to become more effectively connected to yourself and those around you.

COUPLES COUNSELING
One of the main benefits that you can expect to derive from couples therapy is a greater understanding of yourself, your partner, and the interpersonal dynamics within your relationship. Couples therapy can help deepen your connection as a couple, repair your relationship from emotional injuries, and strengthen the bond that you have with your partner.
While couples therapy can yield significant benefits, you may be apprehensive to get started. You may fear that you will be judged, criticized, misunderstood, attacked, or made to feel ashamed and/or guilty. Facing these fears together, and in a safe and neutral environment, will help you to strengthen your relationship. Together we will work to foster a space where there is room for you both. Sessions will include placing boundaries and structure around communication so that, in our sessions, you and your partner can have honest conversations with one another.

- Family Conflict

FAMILY THERAPY
When a family member experiences pain of any kind, it often times impacts the entire family system. Thus, our individual emotions are felt within the context of the family unit in general, and by the other family members specifically. Consequently, it is important in family therapy to view one’s struggles within the context of the system he or she is in, and not just in isolation. Even more important, the way in which a family system functions or operates significantly impacts the way in which members will respond to the individual in need.
The overall goal of family therapy is to improve the healthy functioning of the family as a unit, whatever that may mean for each individual family. As such, systemic family therapy can look different each session based on the particular needs of the family. There will be sessions where the whole family participates, sessions with only parents, and there may be sessions when I may meet with a child individually. We will work together to improve communication, understanding, trust, and effective functioning within the family, which simultaneously allows for each family member to create a better version of him/herself.
